Coca-Cola Christmas Caravan Brings Festive Cheer to Kakamega

Kakamega town came to a standstill on Monday as the Coca-Cola Christmas Caravan rolled through, spreading joy and excitement to residents preparing for the festive season.

Thousands of people turned out to witness the spectacle, many walking away with delightful Christmas gifts, including goats (mbuzi), chickens (kuku), fish, flour, and festive hampers. The giveaways brought smiles to families, helping them gear up for the season’s celebrations.

The event kicked off at Quickmart Supermarket and saw the caravan make its way through the town, creating magical moments and igniting the holiday spirit. Inspired by the generosity of Santa Claus, the Coca-Cola Christmas Caravan celebrates togetherness and spreads joy during this special time of year.

One of the lucky winners, Ishmael Yahuma, couldn’t hide his excitement and gratitude after receiving a goat and other gifts for his family.

“I just came to town to run errands and, when I saw the Coca-Cola Christmas Caravan at Quickmart Supermarket, I decided to check it out—only to win a goat and other giveaways,” said Mr Yahuma.

He urged Kenyans to embrace generosity this season, saying, “Let us come together and share with the less privileged so they too can afford a smile this Christmas.”

The caravan, which began its nationwide tour on December 2 at Coca-Cola’s Embakasi plant in Nairobi, has so far visited Eastern, Mt. Kenya, Rift Valley, Western, and Nyanza regions. At every stop, it has brought communities together, showcasing the magic of the holidays.

“It’s not Christmas until Coca-Cola says so, and today we’ve declared the start of the festive season. We invite everyone to join in by sharing a Coke, a meal, and the joy of giving,” said Ampher Apidi, Experiential Marketing Manager at Coca-Cola Beverages Africa Kenya.

This year, Coca-Cola’s “Real Magic” campaign highlights the importance of human connections and acts of kindness. The Christmas Caravan embodies this message, inspiring Kenyans to embrace the holiday spirit through generosity and shared celebrations.

“Christmas for Coca-Cola is about more than just festivities—it’s about coming together to celebrate the relationships that matter most. This year, we’re delivering magical, kindness-filled experiences to communities across Kenya.”

To amplify the holiday cheer, Coca-Cola has partnered with malls and supermarkets nationwide, creating even more opportunities to spread festive joy.

As Christmas and the New Year approach, Coca-Cola invites everyone to make the season magical by connecting meaningfully, sharing unforgettable moments, and embracing the spirit of giving.
