Governor Lusaka urges swift implementation of key county policies

Bungoma Governor Kenneth Lusaka has called on his administration to prioritise the implementation of newly enacted policies to enhance service delivery to residents.

Speaking at the county headquarters during a meeting with stakeholders, who commended his government for passing five crucial bills, Governor Lusaka emphasized the need for action, not just legislation.

“We must ensure these excellent policies are implemented for the benefit of our people. They are not just for formality,” Lusaka said, urging county officials to stay committed to their enforcement.

The five policies, which address the needs of youth, children, persons with disabilities, gender equality, and sports development, were recently adopted by the county assembly noted that these measures, if effectively implemented, could significantly transform lives in the county.

The governor lamented that many progressive policies had previously been neglected, denying residents the opportunity to benefit from their potential impact.

He singled out the Youth Policy, which he described as overdue and vital in addressing the concerns raised by the younger generation, particularly during recent Gen Z-led protests.

“My administration is committed to enacting laws that are forward-thinking while revising outdated ones,” Lusaka stated, affirming his resolve to champion progressive governance.

The governor reiterated his pledge to work closely with stakeholders to ensure the policies yield tangible results and improve the quality of life for Bungoma residents.
