Farouk Kibet dismisses Edwin Sifuna as inexperienced, tells Natembeya to stop chest-thumping
President William Ruto’s Personal Aide Farouk Kibet has launched a sharp attack on Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna, claiming he lacks the experience and track record needed to lead the country.
Speaking at a fundraiser in Malava today, Kibet said Sifuna is still too young for the presidency and is only serving his first term as senator.
According to him, that leaves the Nairobi lawmaker with little capacity to run for the country’s top seat.
“Sifuna kazi yake ni kusema tu mnaniona vizuri, he lacks an agenda for this country so electing him will be a mess,” Kibet said.
He claimed the senator’s only message to the public is asking whether they can see him well, and went further to describe him as a scam.
Kibet also asked Sifuna to stop receiving funds from former President Uhuru Kenyatta. He alleged that the money is meant to sabotage the government’s development projects.
The Ruto ally used the occasion to call on the opposition to stop undermining the government. He urged them to unite behind the President so that the country can move forward.
“The opposition should stop sabotaging the government and rally behind President Ruto,” he said.
Kibet then turned his attention to Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya, asking him to stop chest-thumping and instead set a good example as a leader.
He claimed Natembeya’s “TAWE” slogans will not benefit residents of Trans Nzoia and will only derail development in the county.
Kibet maintained that President Ruto will continue working for all Kenyans and will not be swayed by the likes of the governor.
“George Natembeya has no value. His work is to stop projects that benefit his Trans Nzoia people. He must be called out or the government will go after him,” Kibet said.
His remarks add to the growing political temperatures as leaders on both sides of the divide position themselves ahead of the next General Election.
Sifuna and Natembeya have both emerged as outspoken critics of the government, often drawing responses from allies of the President Ruto and himself.
