Malava MP aspirant rubbishes claims he’s stepped down

Political rivalry between Malava MP and an aspirant for the constituency seat has taken a new twist after allegations of the latter stepping down went viral.

Responding to social media posts purportedly being peddled by the MP’s supporters, an agitated Kenya National Union of Nurses (KNUN) boss Seth Panyako, has rubbished the claims that he had dropped his bid in favour of the MP.

Panyako has termed the rumours as baseless and only intended to cause confusion within his camp.

“Propaganda spreading around by Malulu supporters that I have stepped down for him is a true indication that they have run out of ideas and they have no agenda for the people of Malava. And I want to ask Malulu to release bursary funds to needy children instead of using the Ksh14 Million to bribe voters at the expense of the education of less privileged children,” Panyako fired at the legislator.

Panyako who has earlier locked horns with Malullu in the 2022 losing narrowly in what came to be a court tussle that was later ruled in favour of the MP, is taking another stab come 2027.

Panyako has vowed to dethrone Malulu as he accusse the MP of not having delivered any tangible development to the locals for the past 15 years he has been the area MP.

The fire-spitting unionist has dared the MP to go for a bigger seat if at all he has what it takes if the years he has represented Malava is anything to bank on.

According to Panyako, the MP has lost any support from the residents after voting to save the then Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Mithika Linturi and voting ‘Yes’ in support of the unpopular Finance Bill that was later rejected.

“Malava people are tired of your nonperformance as all you can brag about is CDF funds which you use as your own to construct classrooms and purchase buses. This is our tax payers cash that is a right to each and every constituency, besides these you have no tangible project you have initiated through your effort as MP,” Panyako told the MP.

“Even as we speak, the road networks in most parts of the constituency are in bad shape because you authorised the awarding of tenders to amateur contractors of which you were given kickbacks leading to the contractors carrying out substandard works as the money to purchase materials wasn’t enough,” continued Panyako.

The unionist boasted that he is the only candidate with the muscle to kick out Malulu from office, saying the other hopefuls have no capacity.

“It is only me who has the political muscle to send Malulu home for good, leave alone these other young people roaming around in the name of aspiring to be the next MP. They should instead join ranks with me and uproot the long overdue MP,” he stated.
