Malava Schools to get major facelift as Malulu reveals modern classrooms, buses in the pipeline
Schools within Malava constituency are set to receive new facelifts courtesy of the National Government-Constituency Development Fund (Ng-CDF), it’s now official.
Long serving Malava MP Malulu Injendi has declared that being the fund’s patron, the 2025/26 Financial Year will be a different one as his focus will be on schools as he seeks to improve infrastructure, ease mobility of learners in a bid to boost education standards by creating a conducive environment for learning.
According to the MP, schools will start witnessing construction of modern storeyed classrooms, purchase of buses besides timely bursary disbursements to schools and deserving learners.
Addressing the locals during the just ended constituency public participation led by the constituency fund manager Humphrey Sechero and Malava NG-CDF chairperson Everlyne Wawire, the team confirmed that plans were underway to ensure that each ward has two schools with storeyed classrooms and buses as they strive to distributes resources equitably.
According to the fund Manager, there was zeal to equip all the sub county schools according to proposals but due to the guidelines set by the government on how CDF should be utilised, only those falling under the three categories of education, security and climate change and mitigation (environment), would be prioritised.
He however observed that most schools did not have land for expansion and hence the introduction of storeyed buildings.
On buses he said it was important for each ward to have at least two schools each with a bus that would be shared with neighbouring schools within the ward when need be and the community as well.
“As a committee we have agreed with the MP that it will be easier to set up storeyed buildings in our schools as it not only gives a good facelift to the school but increases enrolment besides it is the new norm in schools,” said the CDF manager.
“Most of the schools with school buses and storeyed-buildings have high enrolment against the normal ones and to keep our pupils and students from opting to join those upgraded schools, we felt we can also upgrade the others to retain them within the sub county,” he added.
