Battle for UDA ticket for Malava MP getting hotter

Politicians seeking to replace the late Malava MP Moses Malulu Injendi, especially on United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party ticket, have a reason to go back to the drawing board and restrategise on how to tackle each other as the race starts to take shape.
A host of politicians eyeing the Malava parliamentary position that fell vacant following the death of Malulu have come out ready for the battle with a myriad of promises to the residents.
Among them, Kivaywa High School principal Simon Kangwana, in his bid to be elected the next MP, has started making inroads as he sells his agenda with a view of edging out all his competitors.
Kangwana, we understand, has set in place strategies that will see him knock at all the corners of the constituency as he sells his transformation agenda to the electorate.
Not only is he going to work on the improvement of academic standards by equitably sharing the resources among students across all learning institutions.
In his gospel, he says he has prioritised offering full scholarships to bright but needy students across the constituency, saying its the best way to empower the community.
Kangwana has also promised to work on infrastructure by connecting more roads in the area besides empowering women and youth through fair awarding of tenders, and money meant for business to be given to those who deserves.
Job opportunities for the youth will be given the maximum attention it deserves under his leadership, he says in his promises.
Kangwana, who will be taking a first stab for the post, revealed that he will be seeking the ruling party UDA’s ticket.
This, spells doom for candidates eyeing the party’s ticket who had thought it would be a walk in the park to get the ticket.
Among those seeking the ticket are Mombasa based lawyer Leornard Shimaka, West Kabras member of county assembly David Ndakwa, Bungoma high school principal Enock Andanje and commissioner of police Nelson Shilunji Taliti.
Also, the late MP’s son Rhyan Injendi is rumoured to be going for the ticket even though he is seen as a light weight.
Already, his Abasonje clan have rejected his bid dealing him a major blow.
