Mudavadi declares November 1 Public Holiday

Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs Musalia Mudavadi has declared Friday, November 1, 2024 a Public Holiday.

Mudavadi made the announcement through the official Kenya Gazette, moments after President William Ruto appointed him as the Acting Cabinet Secretary for Interior and National Administration.

November 1 was declared a public holiday after the government announced that former Interior CS Kithure Kindiki would be sworn in as Deputy President, replacing impeached Rigathi Gachagua.

Kindiki will be sworn in after a prolonged court battle where Gachagua was fighting for his job and contesting his impeachment.
