FACT CHECK: Brand-New Chimoroni school bus not vandalised, ignore rumours

The principal of Pentecostal evangelical fellowship Africa (PEFA) church sponsored Chimoroni secondary school Veronica Onach in Kakamega North subcounty of Kakamega county has dismissed claims of the newly delivered 45 seater bus being vandalised and parts stolen saying the information is malicious and being spread by the enemies of progress.

The bus that was purchased through the National government constituency development fund (NGCDF) was delivered to the school last week by area Member of parliament Malulu Injendi in a ceremony that was attended by the church, parents and a host of elected leaders from the area.

Also present were the Isuzu bus company representatives who handed over bus documentation and two tanks to the school.

The principal said the community had impressed the bus project, and they are on high alert even as she confirmed no lapses with the school security.

The school is among the fastest growing in the area as the population has kept going up and now stands at over 1000 students since it started recording an upward trend in academic performance under her leadership.

A higher number of students are being sent to universities directly, and parents and stakeholders say it is on the right path to greatness.
