Beauty and brains: Meet the GenZ lady driving Bungoma County to greatness – VIDEO

As the country experiences an unprecedented Generation Z revolution, Bungoma County has not been left behind.

The border county in the former Western Province under the leadership of Governor Ken Lusaka has shown the way by having youthful Kenyans in influential positions tasked with enormous tasks of steering the county to greatness.

As the young people across the country demand for inclusion in key decision-making organs and governance position across the national and county governments, Bungoma has already set the pace and running ahead of the rest.

When elected for his second and final term as Governor Bungoma, Lusaka made a promise to have in his administration younger people and this, he has delivered.

Notable is the newly sworn-in County Solicitor, 34-year-old Purity Kafuna Masinde from the slopes of South Kulisiru in Sirisia Constituency.  

Purity comes with a wealth of experience and energy needed for the crucial docket and Lusaka has banked on her to steer the county through the complex web of legal matters.

Purity, isn’t just beautiful but has impressive academic qualifications that places her at the apex.

She boasts of a Bachelor of Law from the University of Nairobi (2014) and a Diploma; advocate training programme from the Kenya School of Law (2017).

In addition, Purity has a certificate in Alternative Dispute Resolution from the Law Society of Kenya (LSK).

Taking up the position, Purity is not new to the docket as she has previously served as the Bungoma County Legal Officer for at least seven years.

Consequently, she is currently pursuing CPA to add on to the wealth of academic prowess she possesses.

β€œI have put a young lady to a new position of County solicitor and I promise that I will appoint the County Attorney who will also be a youth,” he said during the exclusive interview.

And according to Governor Lusaka, she is not the last young person to walk the corridors of Bungoma County top offices as he has plans to hire the County Attorney whom he has told Mulembe News that will also be a youthful person.

According to the Governor, his choice of a younger person for the docket is guided by the advancements in the law and technology and wants the office holder to be alive to the current environment.

At the same time, Lusaka has revealed that he wants to nurture a new crop of youthful leaders who will in turn take over the running of the fast-growing county to greatness.

β€œI am promising you that I will give you a Director who is a youth, Chief Officer who is youth and any other person to lead,” he said on July 14.
