Matungu roars back to life as 15-year stalled TVET project finally commissioned

Residents of Matungu constituency have a reason to smile after the area MP Oscar Nabulindo pledged to commission Matungu Technical Training institute.

Speaking during the ground breaking of the TVET project at Namberekea area in
Matungu constituency the CDF chairperson Ramadhan Faluma together with the Western region TVET director John Sunguti said the project will bring developments creating job opportunities to the locals.

The two leaders urged locals to embrace the project, be committed and support the MP with his big agenda to implement education and stabilize the economy.

The chair person said the project will uplift residents of Matungu economically adding that are very grateful to MP Nabulindo who has done so much to the people of Matungu.

“You will agree with me that this is a major project that is going to transform the entire constituency and beyond. Members of the public who have come here get to know that this project will support you in many different ways,” the chairperson said.

TVET director Sunguti said this is a very big achievement and are very grateful that this dream of TVET college coming to Matungu and in particular in Munami and Namberekea area.

Sunguti said that the government through TVET is increasing access to training, is increasing quality and also everything that young people require.

He confirmed that the Sigalagala National Polytechnic will do everything as far as coordination of the project is considered.

Area residents led by Philip Nyangule said the long awaited project of about 15 years will bring more development and make a booming business.

“We have waited for this project for many years since the regime of former MP David Were. In the past we have faced challenges especially youth to access education. We have walked long distances to seek education,” Nyangule said.

Residents said the project will be of great impact in Matungu adding that will no longer spent fare to learn in the institution.

” We are happy the project is commissioned.We have children learning as far as Nairobi and Kibabii but for now we are happy the TTI has come closer and will not suffer anymore,” said a resident.
