Open letter to President William Ruto
Greetings from the great people of Lugari and myself.
Your Excellency, you took an oath of office which imposes on you strict adherence to:
1: Constitutionalism
2: Protection of lives and property
3: Respect for democracy
4: Respect for Human Rights and Freedoms
5: Dignified lives for Kenyans.
Following yesterday’s (June 25, 2024) events where the public rage against your will to continue governing without regard to people’s feelings and involvement; people’s displeasure against militarisation of civil actions and the utter breakdown of law and order in major cities and towns of Nairobi, Nakuru, Eldoret, Nyeri, Embu, Kisii, Kakamega and Kitale, I am on behalf of the people of Lugari and like minded citizens appealing to you to:
1: Refuse to sign the acrimonious bill
2: Refer the same back to Parliament with a memo of withdrawal of the same. The people are unanimous they don’t need it.
3: Renegotiate a new bill with the citizens without punitive taxes to move the country forward.
4: Withdrawal the Duale Kenya Gazette deploying the Military and return the Military into the barracks.
5: Stop public massacre as witnessed yesterday.
The people are clear that you have collected so much taxes but they cannot see what they have done in their villages. The people cannot make ends meet.
Your Excellency, it hurts to core of our Nationhood that Kenya is likely to become a failed state in your hands. Listen to voices of reason.
Yours
Nabwera Daraja Nabii, BGJ, MP.
