Sifuna: Tear gas rocks Kakamega ahead of ODM Linda Mwananchi rally
police officers using a small car have lobbed tear gas into the Amalemba ground to disperse residents gathering there as they wait for an address by ODM secretary general Edwin Sifuna and other party leaders.
The officers were being driven in a Mazda Demio car.
The youths have now vowed to check every vehicle entering the venue to safeguard those who will attend.
“We have blocked this road because they have used it to harm our supporters,” one youth said.
According to them, there are reports that the government has deployed goons to rock the venue, saying they were silenced.

However, a group of bodaboda were seen holding a meeting at Shell petrol station in Khayega while wearing ‘tutam’ branded reflectors.
Word on the street say that they are planning to counter Sifuna’s brigade by denying them entry.
Further, some of the youths burnt down the reflectors, saying they will not accept them being used against their own son.
Youths at Amalemba say they will be vigilant and guard Sifuna using all means, urging police officers to stay at the police station to allow them to carry on their rally.
