Akhonya shakes West Kabras as UDA candidate Elphas Shalakha stares at resounding victory

The presence of Farouk ‘Akhonya’ Kibet in the West Kabras ward by-election in Malava Constituency has sent shockwaves across many political camps as it becomes clear that the United Democratic Alliance party candidate, Elphas Shalakha, is poised to win by a big margin in the election scheduled for February 26, 2027.

Shalakha today camped in areas of Musidi after yesterday’s three political rallies in Mayuge, Burundu and Kamuchisu, where millions of shillings were disbursed to schools for development.

Mayuge Secondary School was handed KSh 1 million, while Burundu and Kamuchisu primary schools each received KSh 500,000 from Akhonya. Churches also received hundreds of thousands of shillings to build structures.

Shalakha is expected to emerge victorious by a higher margin as politics of development and opposition propaganda continue to be separated.

Kibet has won the hearts of many voters in the area through his generosity, as he has been involved in numerous empowerment initiatives, and his word is taken seriously.

Shalakha is set to face Bramuel Khaemba of the Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) of Rigathi Gachagua and George Muhsini of the National Economic Development Party of Mike Sonko.
