Lusaka rolls out Ruto re-election drive, dishes President’s goodies

Bungoma Governor Kenneth Lusaka on Friday rolled out President William Ruto’s development pledges in the county, signalling the formal start of an intensified grassroots mobilisation campaign as he assumes his new role as the Western Kenya Regional Coordinator for the President’s 2027 re-election bid.

Acting on President Ruto’s directive to consolidate support in the Mulembe region, Governor Lusaka disbursed millions of shillings to learning institutions in Webuye East and Sirisia constituencies, in what he termed as the administration’s commitment to tangible, people-centred development.

Speaking in Sirisia Constituency, Lusaka lauded President Ruto for entrusting him with the politically strategic task of coordinating the Western Kenya re-election campaign, saying the appointment was both an honour and a responsibility he was prepared to shoulder.

“I thank President William Ruto for the confidence he has placed in me to coordinate the Western Kenya region ahead of 2027. This region matters, and our people respond to action, not rhetoric,” Lusaka said.

In Sirisia, the Governor delivered KSh4 million to Bishop Wabukala Secondary School, KSh1 million to Malakisi ACK Church, and KSh4 million to Butonge ACK Secondary School.

He noted that the funds were part of pledges made by the President during his recent working tour of Bungoma County and were aimed at improving and strengthening education infrastructure.

Earlier, in Webuye East Constituency, Lusaka handed over KSh1 million to Nabuyole Primary School and KSh4 million to ACK Primary School to support ongoing development projects.

He used the occasion to rally residents behind President Ruto, citing visible investments in education, infrastructure, modern markets and social services among others.

“These are not campaign promises; these are delivered commitments. The President’s scorecard is clear for all to see, and it is this record that will secure him victory in 2027,” he told residents.

The Governor, who previously coordinated the region during the Jubilee administration in 2017 and is currently serving under the Kenya Kwanza coalition, said his experience positions him well to galvanise support across Western Kenya.

“I have done this before, and I am equal to the task. I will work with all like-minded leaders across the region to ensure that Western Kenya speaks with one voice and delivers the Mulembe vote for President Ruto,” Lusaka affirmed.

The Bungoma engagements mark the first in a series of planned grassroots activities as the Kenya Kwanza leadership steps up early mobilisation efforts in a region considered pivotal to the 2027 presidential contest.
