Lusaka hails Bungoma artistes’ role in governance, growth

Governor Kenneth Lusaka has praised local musicians for their significant contribution to advancing social change, good governance, and entertainment within the county.

Speaking at the Bungoma Musicians Empowerment Forum held at Webuye Panpaper, the Governor commended artists for using their talents to drive positive transformation and promote unity among residents.

Lusaka, who presented President William Ruto’s contribution during the event, urged the musicians to utilize the funds allocated for the establishment of the Bungoma Artists Empowerment Centre responsibly. He emphasized that the initiative would serve as an important platform for nurturing and promoting local talent.

“Music is a powerful instrument for change. I encourage our artists to make wise use of these resources to uplift themselves and their communities,” said Lusaka.

He further urged residents to continue supporting President Ruto’s Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda, reaffirming the government’s commitment to strengthening the creative sector as part of its wider plan for inclusive growth.

“Let us remain united in advancing the President’s agenda, which is designed to empower all sectors, including the arts,” he added.

The event was graced by several leaders, among them President Ruto’s aide Farouk Kibet, Senator Wafula Wakoli, Senator Consolata Wakwabubi , Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa, and Woman Representative Catherine Wambilianga, underscoring the growing support for Bungoma’s vibrant music industry.
