Novice Injendi develops cold fete, mulls early exit from Malava politics as Abasonje stand firm

The late Malava MP Malulu Injendi’s son, Rhyan Injendi, is considering pulling out of the hot succession race as elders of his Abasonje subclan stand firm in their decision.
Consequently, the young Injendi has been slapped by another huge hurdle after it became evident that the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party does not favour him and will hold nominations to get a strong candidate to be fielded.
He had been banking on utterances by politicians during his father’s burial that the community considers him to replace the late MP and has been ever since lobbying to be handed a direct nomination.
But now, Mulemmbe News has learnt that Injedi has told his close associates that he is not ready for party primaries, and his decision to pull out is well advised, saying “there is always another time.”
More than five candidates will battle it out for the party’s ticket among them Seth Panyako, Commisioner of Police Shilunji Taliti, Simon Kangwana, Enock Andanje, MCAs David Ndakwa (West Kabras) and Kevin Mahelo (Butali/Chegulo).
His decision comes hot on the heels of the Abasonje elders who had asked him to shelve the ambition as it was an abomination to salivate of inheriting the position his father held just days after his death.
Reports indicate that after elders made it clear to Injendi that he cannot be backed by the clan, he has completely avoided to meet them for any further engagement and instead has chosen to spend most of his weekends at Mapera village in Bungoma soliciting for endorsement from outsiders whom he perceives as influential.
Last Sunday, he was pictured at Governor Lusaka’s home in Mapera village in what many people believe he had gone to plead for endorsement so that he automatically replaces his deceased father without an election.
The elders have vowed not to endorse his candidature even as he continues engaging jobless youth to abuse and embarass people on social media at a little pay.
One notorious social media user fond of abusing and insulting people online and hurling vulgar epithets is known as Enos Kisiang’ani, who is said to work at parliament as an aide of a top politician from Bungoma.
