How father’s love turned into painful tears of grief – VIDEO
In the tranquil village of Kimabole Town, nestled in the Chesikaki Ward of Mt. Elgon in Bungoma County, a heartbreaking tragedy has unfolded, leaving the community in shock.
Sarah Toto, a young lady full of promise and dreams for the future, tragically lost her life in what should have been the safety and comfort of her own home.
The cause of Sarah’s death is allegedly linked to her father, Maurice Toto, in an incident that has sent ripples of grief through her family, friends, and the wider community.
According to Chief Maurice Wetala of Chesikaki, a violent confrontation between Sarah and her father escalated after a disagreement.
Reports indicate the dispute may have centred around Sarah’s performance in the recently released Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) results, where she scored a D+.
The grade, reportedly falling short of Maurice’s expectations, is thought to have triggered his violent reaction.
The community of Kimabole, where Sarah was known for her kindness and intelligence, is now in mourning.
Neighbours have expressed disbelief at the senseless loss of a daughter, sister, and friend, with many lamenting the untapped potential that has been tragically cut short.
The incident has ignited a wider conversation about the pressures placed on young people, and the devastating effects of unresolved family conflicts.
Chief Wetala has strongly condemned the violence, urging parents to engage in peaceful and constructive dialogues with their children.
“We must protect our children, not harm them,” he emphasised, stressing that violence should never be the solution, no matter the source of frustration or disappointment.
Maurice Toto, who is currently in custody at the Chesikaki Police Station, has been charged with murder. His actions have left a family torn apart and a community grappling with grief, as they try to comprehend how a father’s love could end so tragically.
Sarah’s death serves as a painful reminder of the critical importance of love, communication, and understanding within families.
It highlights the irreversible consequences of unchecked anger and serves as a call for all families to prioritise their children’s well-being over expectations and frustrations.
