Benjamin Nalwa goes missing as Malava MP race gains momentum
Where is Benjamin Nalwa?
This the question on the lips of many people drawn from across Malava constituency who had hoped that he could be the main contender for MP seat in 2027 only to suddenly disappear from the political arena just like he showed up.
Word on the street is that he has quit active politics to concentrate on his career job at the Kenya Survey office where he serves as geospatial officer.
Nalwa was on the ballot in the last General Election and came a distant fourth after Joab Manyasi of the Orange Democratic Movement party, Kenya National Union of Nurses (KNUN) Secretary General Seth Panyako in an election where Malulu Injendi was declared winner.
While he was cleared to contest, investigations confirmed that he had not resigned as government officer against the law.
It is said that Nalwa is now considering supporting a strong contender in the race even as over five individuals have shown interest in the position.
Among those who have shown interest to unseat Injendi is Advocate of the High Court Edgar Busiega and Bungoma High School Chief principal Dr. Enock Andanje.
It is not clear whether Panyako will give a second trial for the position but word has it he may go for a county position after his family of Avatovo endorsed Andanje as their sole candidate.
Currently, the battle seems to be between Busiega and incumbent Injendi.
