The Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has called on top Kenya Kwanza officials to take decisive measures geared at stabilising the country’s economy.
Mudavadi, who is also the Foreign and Diaspora Affairs and the acting Interior and National Administration was speaking on November 5 when he chaired the National Development Implementation Committee (NDIC) meeting, that comprises Principal Secretaries (PSs) where he called on them to fully embrace their mandates to advance the welfare of the Kenyan people.
“I called on them to take decisive measures to stabilize our economy, foster fair competition in the marketplace, encourage community participation in governance, and empower all segments of our society, particularly the underprivileged,” he said in a statement seen by Mulembe News.
During the meeting, Mudavadi emphasised the importance of honing departmental expertise to expedite the implementation of key government initiatives.
Further, he revealed that he had urged PSs to prioritise the swift and impactful rollout of high-value projects and programmes across the country and to ensure that they are completed within the stipulated timelines.
This call comes hot on the heels of sustained public criticism on government projects that have either stalled or not kicked off at all despite pomp and colour during their respective launches.

Kenyans have been flooding social media spaces showing some of the said incomplete, abandoned, poorly done, and or stagnant projects despite government pumping in millions of money.
Aware of this public outcry, Mudavadi has stepped out to ensure that all government initiated and sponsored projects are finished to satisfaction and to funds prudently utilized.
In the meeting, Mudavadi, who is in charge of coordinating all government ministries, called on the top officials to ensure that all efforts get aligned with the Kenya Kwanza administration’s Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA).
Mudavadi insisted that they advance projects with strong potential for return on investment, thereby maximising positive outcomes.
“Furthermore, I informed the PSs that the government has requested the IMF to conduct a thorough corruption diagnosis within government operations. I encouraged them, as accounting officers, to stay closely acquainted with the various programs and projects under their state departments and to rigorously assess their accountability and transparency,” he said.
