Malava hospital fully operational, offering SHIF services, patients assured

Patients seeking medical services at Malava hospital have been assured of accessing services through the Social Health Insurance Fund (SHIF).

Speaking to Mulembe News on November 5, Dr Michael Adamba assured patients that the facility is fully operational for both inpatient and outpatient.

“Registered and paid up members are accessing services through Social Health Insurance Fund. Non-registered are being registered on site,” he told this writer.

“The revenue officers are doing the registration onsite while the CHPs were trained to do registration within the community. A few patients who have registered but haven’t paid have to pay their bills in cash,” he added.

Many Kenyans seeking medical services in the country have been facing frustrations wile trying to settle their bills via SHIF.

Many patients have been forced to dig deeper into their pockets as the SHIF was not working.
