Pomp and colour as Isuzu throws bash for staff after attaining PhD

In a rare and exciting show of unity and power, Isuzu East Africa management stepped out in style to throw a one-in-a-million party to celebrate the graduation of one of their own.

A team from the giant motor manufacturer led by the chair of the board and managing director Isuzu East Africa Rita Kavashe, the team graced the occasion with zeal and pomp in a celebration that left the Malava village fraternity awed with the flamboyance and ambience displayed at his homestead.

Speaker after the other, heaped praises to Dr. Fred Wasike in the thanksgiving ceremony celebrating the conferment of Doctor of philosophy (PhD) in business administration by the University of Nairobi.

Dr. Wasike, before his conferment, is also a holder of CHRP, CPS, SPHRi, GPHR, SHRM-SCP and his recent PhD comes after 9 years of study sponsored by the motor company.

Rita termed Dr. Wasike as behind the happiness in the company and lauded his achievement in education as a true attestation that he really values the vice.

She pointed out that Dr Wasike believes in perfection and that has been the driving force towards the company success as he encouraged every one of us to learn from each other as a team and that learning bond has seen Isuzu to command the largest market share within the motor industry.

“Fred has been my right hand man for the company for the last 13 years where through him we have learnt and achieved so much and his commitment to delivering to the company aspirations has seen him recently being awarded the global professional human resource award meaning his steadfast commitment is also recognized globally,” she said.

Dr. Wasike congratulated the company for paying his tuition and being patient with him for the last 9 years as he shuffled between work class and family.

“As a family we value education so much and that is why we have a FLADS family flag that stands for the first initials of my family with four pillars including education, health, religion and caring where they all go hand in hand if one has to make it in life,” he said.

“Our family love for education has seen us engage in numerous educational matters both at Malava and Navakholo where we have engaged in sponsoring less privileged students pursue their education right from primary to university level and we are encouraging the young and old to embrace education whenever a chance arises as it is the best equaliser in life,” he added.

He also lauded Isuzu for also considering education as a first priority by supporting schools projects including infrastructure and learning equipment.
