Shirugu-Mugai MCA in trouble over missing millions meant for development
Shirugu-Mugai MCA in Malava sub county Peter Wanami has been put to task to explain to the electorate how millions of shillings allocated to his ward by the County Government have been utilised.
At the same time, Wanami has been warned against issuing blanket and unsupported statements aimed at discrediting Governor Fernandes Barasa.
Ezra Sunguti revealed that KShs 10 million was allocated towards 10 kilometre roads project, of which the MCA is said to have diverted to a box culvert bridge connecting Mavusi village and Navakholo constituency.
Also, Kshs.3.4 million was meant to protect water springs and Kshs.4.5 million for ECDE programs, where Wanami is alleged to have spent all the money in his home village of Samitsi.
Sunguti, who challenged the leader to stop lying to the public, asked him to come clear about another Kshs 2 million allocated towards a dispensary renovation in the area.
Recently, county Governor Barasa handed bursary cheques, and the ward received Kshs 4 million, he added.
