Lipesa: Stop destroying my projects, politician tells rivals

A Butal/Chegulo based political activist Habil Lipesa has decried the destruction of his community projects by political rivals in the area.

Lipesa says his rivals feel he will get political mileage through his projects and is now calling on them to stop the destruction saying serving the community is his passion and the projects benefits everyone regardless of their political affiliations.

Lipesa who vied to be area MCA in last election, and lost to incumbent Kevin Mahelo, wondered why goons were being sent to destruct a water project taking away pipes to sabotage the projects even when the community had welcomed it.

Lipesa, speaking during an exclusive interview with Mulembe News on July 2, said he won’t stop serving the community even with the challenges promising to set up more development programmes in the ward.

He is much involved in socio economic activities among them full scholarship for bright but needy children ,construction of houses for homeless and financial support for self help groups aimed at economically empowering the people.

Lipesa urged the leaders to listen to the youth and find solutions to issues afflicting them among them the high unemployment rate and poverty levels.

He asked Members of County Assembly (MCAs) to stop going to bed with the Kakamega Governor Fernandez Barasa but serve the interests of their people as counties were meant to bring service closer to the people but to the contrary nothing is forth coming.
