Only Govt brings development, align well, Lusaka advises Bungoma

Bungoma Governor Kenneth Lusaka has urged residents to support leaders aligned with the national government, saying collaboration with the State brings tangible benefits to the people.

Speaking in Mukhweya, Chwele–Kabuchai Ward, during a Ford-Kenya rally after attending a church service, Lusaka said the county’s close working relationship with the national government had already borne fruit through major development projects, including the planned Level Six Hospital at Sichei.

“Working with the national government comes with goodies. Nobody joins the opposition willingly, those who do often find themselves there by circumstance. We are already in government, so let us support leaders allied to it,” the Governor said.

He noted that the upcoming Sichei Level Six Hospital will create numerous employment opportunities and improve healthcare services in the region, terming it a “game changer” for Bungoma County.

Lusaka also appealed to residents to vote for the Ford-Kenya candidate in the upcoming Chwele–Kabuchai Ward by-election, noting that the seat fell vacant following the death of a Ford-Kenya MCA.

“Our party is the one that lost the seat. We are humbly asking residents to return a Ford-Kenya candidate to continue with the development agenda,” he said.

The Governor further urged locals to maintain peace throughout the electioneering period and avoid divisive politics.

In addition, Lusaka pledged to ensure the upgrading of Mukhweya Dispensary into a fully-fledged health centre and to employ more nurses to enhance service delivery in the area.
