Amanda Resort rubbishes viral room claims, threatens legal action
The management of Amanda Resort in Kakamega has distanced itself from the ongoing social media reports linking it to certain immoral and unlawful activities as false and unfounded.
The resort, in a statement sent to media houses, has rubbished claims levelled against it by one Shitiabai Tarique as false, fabricated and meant to taint the name of the resort and its customers.
“We categorically and unequivocally state that these allegations are false, defamatory, and entirely without factual basis,” read the statement seen by Mulembe News.
The management confirmed that no such alleged incident has ever occurred at the premises, with the claims being circulated on social platforms being fabricated and malicious, and appearing intended to mislead the public and injure the reputation of our brand.
They assured the public that the resort has strict policies of professionalism, guest confidentiality, and legal compliance while maintaining zero tolerance for any form of misconduct, as they uphold the highest standards within the hospitality industry.
Besides the management disassociating the resort from the alleged narrative, it has put Shitiabai Tarique and any other parties on notice that any continued publication, distribution or amplification of the said false statement risks being met with immediate legal action, including claims for damages, injunctive relief and reputational redress.
At the same time, it has urged the public, media houses and online platforms to refrain from sharing and/or engaging with unverified and harmful content, warning that it will not hesitate to take legal steps to protect its reputation, guests and stakeholders it has built over many years.
The resort had been accused of hosting a prominent politician with a younger male friend in the purported room 21, which it has since denied as not available at the premises, with close allies to the politician pointing fingers at her political rival, whom she has waged war against to unseat him come 2027, and which they said was working considering the kind of propaganda the opponent had waged.
“For the avoidance of doubt, Amanda Resort does not have any room designated as Room 21. No such incident, as alleged, has ever occurred within our establishment,” the resort clarified.
They, however, assured him that his time in office was over and that no amount of intimidation would tone them down, as already the dice was cast for 2027.
They said the male politician had hired Shitiabai to mudsling his female rival, whom many have found favour in as the best next suitor to take over his position.
They called on the public to assume the rumours being peddled as they were inconsequential.
