Wilberforce Tuvei will win Malava MP seat, supporters say

Supporters of Kenya Moja Malava by-election candidate have expressed hope that he is better placed to win the parliamentary seat.

The supporters have firmly backed Wilberforce Tuvei as the only third force that is sellable across the constituency.

Speaking at Lusumu Village in Mugai Shirugu Ward, the locals rubbished the ongoing social media allegations that Tuvei, who is vying for the Malava legislative seat on a Kenya Moja ticket, had stepped down in favour of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA), terming the claims pure malice and propaganda meant to derail their candidate’s votes.

They also disowned their Vavuye chairman, David Sayia Mutanyi, whom they accused of trying to broker a deal to sell their candidate to UDA for his own personal interests.

Led by their spokesperson, Zebedayo Welanano Makwata, who read the declaration, the Vavuye sub-clan of the larger Avashu clan disowned their chairman, terming him someone who was being coerced by UDA propagators to dim Tuvei’s dream of becoming the next Malava MP.

Elders led by Simon Mwaya called on the sub-clan to quickly strip the leadership baton from Sayia as he had gone against their earlier stand of defending and supporting Tuvei to clinch the seat. He said they had a lot of faith in their aspirant, whom they described as fresh, clean, and transparent politically.

“There is no time where we have met to decide that we should shelve our son’s ambitions in favour of Ndakwa or any other aspirant. This is our bull, which is capable of facing off other bulls squarely come November 27th, and we are optimistic that he will be the game changer Malava has been yearning for for a very long time.”

They further urged all Malava residents to rally behind Tuvei, saying he was spotless in matters of corruption and that his manifesto was designed to benefit all—from the young to the old.

The supporters maintained that it was only Tuvei who was campaigning genuinely with no outside financial assistance and that his political journey has been clean and appealing to all and sundry.
