We will deliver Malava MP seat to UDA, leaders vow

Leaders drawn from the broad-based government have vowed to pitch camp in Malava to ensure the UDA candidate clinches the November 27th by-election seat.

The Presidential aide, Farouk Kibet, confirmed this when he and other guests presided over the Malava Catholic Parish Pius funds drive, where a total of Ksh 1.8 million was raised towards the realisation of the initiative.

Kibet said the government was reclaiming the Malava seat, which was held by the late Malulu Injendi, and that they will bring on board more like-minded leaders to drum up support for the UDA candidate, David Ndakwa, ahead of the coming polls.

“UDA is keenly eyeing the Malava seat, and I have brought a new set of friends to assist us campaign for the government, and this should be a big boost to you, Ndakwa. You should grasp and make good use of them to ensure your win, as it will be a win for President William Ruto come 2027.”

He also lauded the good working relationship between Western leaders and other tribes and called on Wetangula to unite the region in support of President William Ruto’s second-term re-election as the Mulembe community warms up to take the leadership baton in 2032.

He said development in Malava will continue despite harsh criticism from the opposition, as it was the people’s right to have it.

Farouk Kibet assured the management of St. Teresa’s Isanjiro that their pledge by the late MP to deliver a school bus will be Ndakwa’s first assignment as the new MP.

“Give us David Ndakwa, and we and other government leaders will ensure this school receives its bus. Since he is education-oriented just like the late MP, we will appoint him to serve in the education committee to be present and execute the mandate of the people of Malava respectively,” Farouk said.

The leader reminded the locals that it was time for them to lead the country after President William Ruto leaves office, calling on the leaders to start seeking political alliances with other tribes within the country.

The UDA aspiring candidate, David Ndakwa, who is eyeing the Malava seat, said he was ready to represent the people of Malava and called for maximum support from the electorate.

He said Malava needed better leadership and direction, which could only be delivered by a government candidate.

“I’m just following the late’s footsteps by taking the electorate to the government where they belong, and we should practise peaceful, free, and fair elections where no one should lose life or property because of a by-election.”

Ndakwa said he will ensure Malava is back on its development feet and that service delivery is effected.

He took a stab at the opposition for not having enough resources to initiate any tangible projects within the constituency, saying they were only traversing and watering down any projects and empowerment initiatives the government has launched in Malava.

The Leader of Majority in Parliament, Kimani Ichung’wa, who sits in the Western MPs Caucus as an ex officio, announced that he knew what Malava’s development blueprint the late MP left and that he will be working with Ndakwa to see it executed.

Kakamega Governor Fernandez Barasa said he, as the ODM county chairman, through the broad-based government setup, was fully supporting the UDA candidacy in Malava.

“We are in support of David Ndakwa as our candidate, and we will walk that journey with him to the last minute, and we are sure we will deliver the Malava legislative seat to the government where it belongs,” he assured.

He said as the county ODM chairman, they will continue to support President William Ruto’s administration, as it is their party leader, the late Raila Odinga, who left them in government.

ODM has joined ranks with the national government in propagating for the election of David Ndakwa as the next Malava MP and will campaign for and support his bid.

He said the Kakamega ODM branch will steer their supporters to rally behind President William Ruto’s second bid as the region prepares for its presidential takeover in 2032.

The Speaker of the National Assembly, who was the guest of honour at the funds drive, reminded the residents that they have always voted for the government and should not be lured by the opposition, as they will miss out big.

He assured the UDA aspirant losers that they will be accommodated in the government after the by-election.

“The government is aware of your unwavering support towards UDA candidate David Ndakwa and has already forwarded their papers to the Head of Public Service for consideration.”

He noted that they will camp in Malava for the last three weeks to conduct extensive campaigns in favour of their candidate.

Wetangula brushed off tribal politics being peddled by the opposition led by DAP-Kenya leaders.

He said as a government, they were working as one to deliver to Kenyans despite their tribal backgrounds.

The Speaker termed Farouk as a selfless leader who has decided to stand with the people of Western, and especially Malava, to bring development through empowerment programmes.

He said the coming by-election was a very defining moment for the government to stay focused and ensure it retains the Malava seat.

Wetangula warned those talking ill of the late Prime Minister to desist, saying Raila was larger than life and shaped the political landscape of this nation and should be respected even in death.
