‘Nomadic’ Panyako decamps, again, dumps Jirongo’s party
The Kenya National Union of Nurses Secretary General Seth Panyako has decamped for the 7th time as he seeks to become the next Malava MP.
Since the demise of Malava Member of Parliament Malulu Injendi early this year, Panyako has been party umping from one party to the other.
After weeks of speculation, Panyako officially rejoined the Democratic Action Party of Kenya (DAP-K) even as his chances of clinching the position became minimal as his supporters base shrinks.
He is staring at an impending defeat if the current political activity in the area is anything to go by as it has become evident that the candidate who will be picked by the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party will be a force to reckon with.
UDA is more popular now in the area than in 2022 when Panyako used it as his political vehicle where he garnered 20,133 votes against the Injendi’s 22,891.
Injendi was elected on the Amani National Congress (ANC) party ticket that has since folded to join UDA, giving it more strength.
President William Ruto’s aide Farouk Kibet has taken it upon himself to oversee development programs in the area and many projects are now ongoing among them the last mile electricity project and pipped water projects that will see thousands of local get clean water.
He has moved around five wards in the area, namely Shirugu-Mugai, South Kabras, East Kabras, Butali/Chegulo, and Chemuche wards popularising the party and empowering the community.
