Lunyito Principal receives praises from MP, hailed as transformative

The taking over of Patrick Sakwa as the new principal of Lunyito Mixed Secondary School in Lugari Constituency was a blessing, it has been revealed.

This is according to education stakeholders who say there are many positive changes that can be seen at the institution.

Sakwa took over the institution at the time candidates were sitting their national examination in 2024 but already, the school has a water project completed in only two months.

Water supply was a major problem at the school, but through his initiatives, well wishers came in handy and have sorted the problem for good.

He also took the school when buildings were in bad shape, and so far, repairs and painting have been done, creating good and serene environment for learning.

While the school boarding section had collapsed with only close to 60 students choosing to stay at school, currently already over 200 students are now boarders with the number likely to go up.

Sakwa is also keen on reviving the sporting activities at the school, and he believes his school will compete at higher levels in various games, starting with football.

On academics, the new principal says he has put programs in place that will see the performance improve at the end of the year, noting that all students are attended to by teachers at all times and this he believes will bolster performance.

He thanked the parents for giving a helping hand to the school when called upon, urging them to timely pay school fees in order to be able to run day to day academic activities while at the same keeping students in school.

Area Member of Parliament Nabii Nabwera has promised to give the required support to the school, saying he has faith in its administration.

Nabwera asked parents to take serious education for their children by heavily investing in it while adding that an educated society is empowered.
