Kasaya breathes fire, warns Governor Barasa

Former Kakamega County Deputy Speaker Leonard Soita Kasaya is breathing fire, warning Kakamega Governor Fernandes Barasa to serve the electorate diligently or face the axe in 2027.

While addressing a funeral gathering in Malava subcounty, Kasaya, who is currently the Vihiga County Chief of Staff, wondered why medical facilities in the area lack drugs, doctors, and essential equipment.

Patients are forced to seek medical services from neighbouring counties while and some seeking services in costly private facilities yet the county government was receiving billions of shillings annually to improve livelihoods of the people.

He also decried the poor state of roads in the area, calling on elected leaders to press the governor so that he could deliver on his election promises failure to which they will sink along with him.

Matungu MP Peter Oscar Nabulindo

Governor Barasa has been threatening those who dare question his ability to deliver, and recently, Matungu, MP Peter Oscar Nabulindo, expressed fears over his life after the governor put him on notice for asking him to equip medical facilities in his area.

The two leaders hail from the same area.

While Nabulindo dared the governor to go ahead and harm him for telling him the truth, Kasaya, on his part, said he does not care what happens to him as he was speaking for the voiceless.
