Nyamu urged to exorcise ‘Akaranga ghosts’ at Shamberere, keep soaring higher
The ghosts of former Shamberere National Polytechnic Principal Judith Akaranga who was transferred to Kongoni Technical Training Institute in Likuyani, Kakamega County are still haunting the current administration under Elisha Nyamu.
And today, education stakeholders now want the remaining cronies of the former Principal should be transferred before they totally ground the current administration.
A lot is said to be happening at the institution with Nyamu not having a free hand on every undertaking aimed at improving the institution as he continues to receive lots of opposition from those perceived to be friends of Akaranga.
These remnants are said to be busy planting the seeds of discord, both to the staff and students, all aimed at totally crippling Nyamu’s leadership.
However, since he took over, the institution has registered the highest number of enrolment hitting 6,000 students this year, straining the available facilities besides the elevation of the institution to National polytechnic status under his watch.
Blanket claims of misuse of resources and the sudden and mysterious deaths of students are among the scandals that are threatening to bring down the now prestigious college based in Malava sub-county.
These malicious claims, we have since established, are being spread by the enemies of Nyamu who still believe that by fighting him, Akaranga may have her way back at the institution and not let her go.
With the deaths being linked to evil spirits and black magic, this shows how keen the detractors are in ensuring the institution goes down, never to wake up.
The intention is to scare parents from admitting their children in an institution inhabited by evil spirits killing students.
The detractors recently dropped leaflets indicating that Nyamu had been transferred to Sigalagala National Polytechnic and the intention was to fuel animosity among students and education stakeholders who were to made to believe that Nyamu had bribed to cancel the said transfer.
We have since established no such transfer existed.
Nyamu has been advised to crack a whip and transfer those opposed to him if he has to implement his development agenda and stamp his authority before it is too late.
