Malava MP on the spot, again, for victimising school heads who host rival politicians

Scared of an imminent defeat in the coming 2027 elections, Malava Member of Parliament Malulu Injendi is now said to be going for heads of institutions that are hosting his opponents, threatening to transfer them for offering platforms to his political rivals.

It seems the gods are not on his side, and every move he makes is receiving a backlash.

The decision by the third time legislator to go after the teachers and management of Shitirira Primary School in Chemuche Ward under Sarah Lumbasi with threats of removal for hosting lawyer Edgar Busiega, who has declared interest to unseat the MP, has been condemned by education stakeholders who now have asked the legislator to allow institutions in his area to run independently.

“Busiega hails from Shitirira village and his decision to visit the school at the time they were holding prayers for Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) candidates and organising for their lunch programme during the exam period should not be a reason for victimisation of teachers,” a parent who applauded Busiega’s action said.

Busiega also bought exam kits for pupils and the management of the school, and parents prayed for him while promising to support his future endeavours saying it was a good move to give back to the society that educated him and that it was a sign of respect and love he has for his people and community.

Word has it that Injendi has ignored several invitations to schools only appearing when the national government constituency development fund is launching a project.

A close associate of the MP revealed that Busiega’s candidature has troubled the legislator, hence the bitterness exhibited by the MP.

The Shitirira incident comes hot on another case where the Shamberere High School Principal Soita Muhuyi was unceremoniously transferred to Lukhuna Secondary in Trans Nzoia county for allegedly hosting a guest speaker during an Annual General Meeting who has a diverse opinion on the MP’s leadership.

Even after locals protested the move to transfer Muhuyi, Injendi could listen to none and went ahead to bulldoze his way out.
