Cut throat contest for Bungoma gubernatorial seat as business mogul enters race
A prominent businessman Allan Fwamba has announced his interest in the Bungoma gubernatorial seat, setting the stage for one of the toughest epic political battles come 2027.
His entry complicates the county politics as the future of his two arch-rival, the former governor Wycliffe Wangamati and Kimilili Mp Didmus Barasa, now hangs in the balance.
Incumbent governor is in his last term as the governor, Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa, and former governor Wycliffe Wangamati had shown interest to succeed Lusaka.
Fwamba, who is making his first stab in active politics, says his intention is to offer issue and work based type of leadership in the county.
“Apart from improving governance and addressing the needs of the people of Bungoma, I will also initiate a transformative agenda that include access to education, jobs internationally, promote income generating activities and food” he posed.
Also, the top of his agenda is to improve the provision of improved healthcare, water, and agriculture.
“I have what it takes to change things in the county if given an opportunity,” he added.
Mr.Fwamba enjoys vast experience in governance and called upon the people of Bungoma county to support his political ambition, promising a good governance when elected.
Political pundits aver that Allan Fwamba is the right person for the position as he has proven track record on service delivery owing to his long service in public and private sector.
Through his firms, Fwamba is said to have employed hundreds of locals drawn from the county.
To seek substantive support, Fwamba has been holding meetings and attending public events to strategise for expected bruising governor post battle.
