Governor Kenneth Lusaka hosted the Bungoma National Games School qualifiers this morning at his Kamukuywa residence, showcasing his solidarity and support ahead of the highly anticipated national competition in Kisii County.

“Today, we are not just hosting qualifiers; we are celebrating the spirit of sportsmanship and talent,” Lusaka remarked.

The qualifier disciplines set to represent the county include volleyball for both boys and girls, basketball for both boys and girls, girls’ rugby, boys’ and girls’ long tennis, badminton, and table tennis, drawing participants from Namwela, Lugulu, Friends School Kamusinga, Sirakaru, Mbakalo schools, among others.

“Your hard work and dedication will pave the way for future success, and discipline will propel your quest to clinch victory. Go forth and shine,” he emphasized.

Additionally, Lusaka committed to providing unwavering support to the participants and fast-tracking the Youth and Sports Policy, a key initiative for nurturing talent in the county.

Furthermore, the Governor highlighted that the Masinde Muliro Kanduyi Stadium would serve as a premier venue for showcasing sports and talent, not just locally but far beyond the county’s borders.
