Is Khalwale courting Enock Makanga as running mate?

Kakamega senator Bonnie Khalwale is now courting politician and businessman Enock Makanga to be his running mate for the Kakamega Governor’s seat.

This will be a second stab at the gubernatorial seat for the vocal senator.

Makanga who hails from the Manda/Shivanga ward in Malava subcounty unsuccessfully vied for the ward’s seat in the 2022 General Election losing to David Kivishi.

He is a renowned businessman with interests in hotel and security sectors.

Khalwale also picked John Lusamamba from Malava in 2017 when he first attempted contesting against former Governor Wycliffe Oparanya.

Khalwale has declared interest to unseat incumbent governor Fernandes Barasa in 2027.
