Farouk Kibet funds 200-bed dorm at Malava Primary
Pupils at Malava Primary School in Malava Constituency have a reason to smile after a new 200-capacity dormitory funded by President William Ruto’s aide, Farouk Kibet, was officially opened.
The facility was commissioned by the area Member of Parliament David Ndakwa in a ceremony attended by Members of County Assembly led by Shirugu-Mugaiward Peter Wanami who was the host, Sub-County education officials, teachers, parents and learners under subcounty education officer Rose Chesumi.
The dormitory will accommodate over 200 students and is expected to ease acute congestion, improve the welfare of boarders, and boost academic performance for learners who trek long distances to school.

Speaking during the event, the MP thanked Farouk Kibet for his consistent support to education projects in Western Kenya, noting that the project will transform learning at the school.
“This is a game-changer for Malava Primary. Our children will now have a safe and decent place to sleep and study. We are grateful to Mr. Farouk Kibet for investing in the future of our children,” the MP said.
He pledged to push for more infrastructural development in schools across the constituency, citing the need for more classrooms and sanitation facilities.

MCAs from the area commended the collaboration between the Office of the President and local leaders, saying it demonstrates commitment to grassroots development.
Education officials said the dormitory will help curb absenteeism, improve retention, and keep more children, especially girls, in school.
Parents welcomed the project, terming it timely and impactful.
