Malava MP, MCAs meet Ruto, secure development millions

The government will support key development priorities in Malava Constituency, Kakamega County with over Shs 400 Million expected to be pumped in various projects in the area.

This was revealed by area Member of Parliament David Ndakwa who said said key projects in the area were set to to get facelift and upgrade to ensure service delivery to the electorate.

This, he added, was after he led a delegation of Members of the Country Assembly (MCA) from the area to State House Nairobi for a development consultations with President William Ruto whom they handed a memorundum to him on areas that need be considered for assistance.

“President Ruto positively received our memorundum and committed government support to key projects in the area,” said Ndakwa.

The government, the legislator said, will construct a new modern market in Malava Town at a cost of Shs 180 Million to improve business opportunities in the area.

The project will be undertaken by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development.

Other projects set to be done by the government as per the meeting include the facelifts and upgrade of Malava Level 4 Hospitals at a cost of Shs 50 Million. This will include the construction of a modern morgue.

There will be the construction of 1,200 bed capacity hostel at the Shamberere National Polytechnic and completion of Quarry Health Center in Chimuche Ward.

Several learning institutions in the area will be given school buses too.

The MP thanked President Ruto for the gesture towards the people of Malava stating the Head of State was committed to improving the livelihoods of locals.

He called on leaders from the area to remain united and focused in serving the electorate stressing on the need to harmoniously work with both levels of governments for resident’s developmental needs to be realized.
