Kalonzo, Matiang’i, Wamalwa face hostile crowd, heckled in Malava
The United Opposition team led by Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka and former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i ran into trouble while cmapaigning for DAP-K candidate Seth Panyako on Friday.
The team, including Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya, Kakamega senator Bonnie Khalwale and former Senator Cleophas Malalah were forced to cut their speeches after the crowd that had turned up started heckling and chanting ‘tutam’ slogans.
The race for the vacant Parliamentary seat has become a two-horse race between Panyako and UDA’s David Ndakwa.
With sustained campaigns led by Farouk Kibet, Ndakwa is seen as the frontrunner and has continued to receive warn reception across the area.
On the other hand, Panyako is receiving hostile reception as residents believe his team lacks concrete agenda and only focuses on abusing President William Ruto.
Recently, President William Ruto aide Farouk Kibet held a more successful campaign rallies in the area that ended peacefully.
