Busia releases KSh63M for ECDE classrooms

The County Government of Busia has released KSh 63 Million to facilitate the completion of 96 Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE) classrooms in the area.

Speaking on Monday, Acting County Chief Officer in the County Treasury Ahmed Hefow revealed the funds had been send direclty to respective institutions to facilitate their timely construction.

“The money will go to the construction and equipping of all 96 centres that are expected to be complete by December 2025,” he said.

According to him, this initiative remains one of the flagship projects of Governor, Dr.Paul Otuoma, aimed at transforming early learning environments and strengthening the foundation of basic education across the County.

His sentiments were echoed by the County Executive Committee Member for Education and Vocational Training, Beatrice Nakholi, stating that time has come for ECDE learners to go through improved learning conditions.
