Barasa backs Ndakwa, urges supporters to vote for UDA in Malava by-election

Kakamega County Governor Fernandes Barasa has called on political leaders from the area to unite in order to deliver development to the electorate.

Barasa said the sole purpose of their election to leadership positions was to serve residents and this will only be achieved through working together irrespective of party affiliations.

He at the same time called for respect amongst each other stating it is disheartening to see elected leaders demean each other.

“I call for political maturity amongst leaders. Let’s stop this outdated politics of abusing and undermining each other and instead concentrate on serving the people who elected us,” observed Barasa.

The Governor said this on Sunday during a fundraiser in aid of Musungu PEFA Church in Malava constituency Kakamega County.

He was in the company of President William Ruto’s aide Farouk Kibet, NG-CDF board member Naomi Shiyonga, Kirinyaga County Commander Nelson Shilunji Dalidi, UDA parliamentary aspirant in the November 27 by-election David Ndakwa and a host of members of the county assembly.

Barasa revealed that the county administration had been directed to seek votes for UDA candidate, David Ndakwa, in the coming bye-election.

He said: “As a county we are rallying our support towards the candidature of Ndakwa and has directed my administration to drum up support for him.”

Barasa described Ndakwa as a person fit to take up the seat stating Malava constituency development future would be bright under his leadership.

On his part, Ndakwa who has been the County Minority Leader said he had what it takes to grab the seat owing to his vast experience in politics.
