Tande Boys Crowned Champions after Thrashing Malava High 2-0

Tande Secondary School have been crowned the Kabras East Sub-county Kenya Secondary School Sports Association (KSSSA) Term 2 boys soccer champions after they clawed Malava Boys High School 2-0 in an entertaining match played at the latter’s grounds on Tuesday.

Consequently the school will represent the Sub-county in the Kakamega County games that will be staged at St. Peter Mumias High School beginning June 17.

After a barren first half, Tande drew the first blood in the 55th minute to put the victors in the lead.

Efforts by the loosers to draw level was unsuccessful as they were thwarted by hawk eyed Tande defense.

Tande drove the last nail in Malava’s coffin after they scored the day’s second in the 75th minute via a spot kick.

On their way up, Tande edged out St. Anthony Kakoi 1-0 in the semis while Malava dismissed Lugusi 2-0 at the same stage.

School Principal Dan Masitsa expressed gratitude to the technical bench for their commitment, discipline and professionalism throughout the tournament.

He also congratulated the players for their determination, team work and exemplary conduct on and off the pitch.

Masitsa urged the team to remain focused, united and determined as they prepare for the county games.

Tande had been pooled alongside hosts St. Peter’s Mumias, Munyuki and Namasoli in the County tourney.

St. Anthony Kakoi will represent the Sub-county in girls soccer while Malava Boys will be the area’s flag bearers in volleyball boys.
