Malava MP told to defend cane farmers from exploitation or prepare to go home in 2027
Media personality and aspiring 2027 Malava Mp aspirant John Wanyama has challenged area MP to defend cane farmers against miller exploitation.
He said the Mo was silent over the recent cane prices reduction announced by the Kenya sugar board, instead of standing up to defend them.
Speaking in Namanja location in Butali chegulo ward during the burial of Robai Lukania Magana,the youthful aspirant took issue with the Mp over his silence o er the issue boring tnay his constituency is most affected as it has two sugar factories hence cane farming was vibrant and practiced on large scale.
Wanyama who is keen to unseat Davi Ndakwa come 2027,said he was committed to diligently serve the electorates through various programmes aimed at uplifting their livelihoods.
He said the current leadership was not supporting the cane farmers and instead working with the millers to suppress the farmers.
He said he was ready to set e the Malava people with decorum and will ensure development is key within the constituency.
He also promised to drill water for the Namanja secondary that will also serve the community at large.
At the same time he also promised to built houses for the less fortunate as part of his giving back to the society.
The principal secretary public service Jane Imvunya had a hard time convincing the crowd over the SHA functioning and support for President William Ruto second term as the crowd booed down her pleas .
She had asked the crowd to stand with the government of the day and support it’s programme to the core .
The crowd however dint hide their anger and dissatisfaction booeing and jeering her speech as she drummed support to the government.
Earlier Imvunya had called on the public to make good use of unclaimed financial assets services in recovering their loved ones properties and cash stating that many dead people had properties which the famues did not know about
Area Mp David Ndakwa who steered clear of the cane issue asked the management of the school to visit his office to address the pending development issues at the school.
He said he had released bursaries to schools hence learning will be in progress.
