John Wanyama rubbishes claims he’s a project in Malava MP race
Malava parliamentary aspirant John Wanyama has dismissed claims that he is someone’s project in the quest to capture the seat.
Wanyama instead said he is pursuing an independent political path as he gears up for battle to get the seat in the 2027 general election.
“I am not anybody’s project. No one is sponsoring me. I am my own man,” declared Wanyama.
The renowned journalist said his move to vie for the seat was triggered by the areas poverty levels hence wants to deliver development to locals.
He said this on Saturday at Chebwai area in the constituency in Kakamega North Sub-county during the funeral service of the late Kenyatta Seleta.
Wanyama said efforts by his detractors to brand him a project will not deter him from gunning for the seat warning them to prepare for a bruising battle in the coming polls.
He said: “If being called a project can bring development in the area then it’s ok. That’s what we want. We want this youth to access job opportunities as well improve the areas academic standards.
Wanyama said he was not ready to engage in empty rhetoric and called on his opponents to play muture politics devoid of mudslinging and witch hunt.
