Senior Principal Jacob Tali Wemisiko could not hide his excitement as he confirmed that the school had produced 122 candidates joining university out of the 315 who sat for the 2025 KCSE.

The results doubled from 69 candidates who qualified to join university in the 2024 national examination, ranking the institution as the top school in Matete Sub-county.

While addressing the press after receiving the results, the senior principal confirmed that the school had improved from a mean score of 5.22 in 2024 to 6.03 in 2025, surpassing its set target and now aiming to clock a mean score of 7 in the end-year examination.

“Thorough revision of the syllabus, exchange programmes, benchmarking and numerous tests from national, county and sub-county levels have been the order of the day at this school, and our commitment to emerge the best has finally paid off. As we look forward to even better results from our 360 candidates this year, we are also admitting our Grade 10 students, 520 in number, who will be in eight streams — STEM (four) and Social Sciences (four),” he observed.

The principal also hinted that teachers’ motivation and students’ commitment to realising good results contributed to the good grades.

Lwandeti DEB has proven itself to be an academic powerhouse and is determined to ensure that it does not lose its grip on the top academic spot.

He said that with the posting of good results, parents will need to improve fee payments, besides the school attracting more enrolment.

However, the school is grappling with a lack of a modern administration block to accommodate all departments, as the institution has over 50 teachers heading various departments.

“As an institution, we are also currently in need of a computer science room, home science, woodworks and engineering, and electricity rooms, as well as two more laboratories for STEM learning. We are appealing to all well-wishers and alumni of the school to come together and assist their school to achieve these structures,” he pleaded.

He further called upon the community to continue embracing the school, noting that it has the potential to produce quality grades.
