Political witch-hunt derailing our development, Lusaka warns
Development in ‘Mulembe Nation’ is being derailed by the unending politics of witch-hunt Bungoma Governor Ken Lusaka has revealed.
Lusaka, who is serving his second and final term, noted in his New Year’s address that continued disunity and superiority fights only slows down any meaningful development for the region.
Speaking on January 1 during church service at St Peter’s ACK Kamusinga, Governor Lusaka urged leaders across the county to unite, collaborate and put aside political differences to deliver tangible development for residents, saying 2026 will be a defining year for service delivery.
He cautioned that incessant wrangles will plunge the county and the entire region into hopelessness and called on leaders to respect institutional mandates and work in harmony for the common good of the people of Bungoma.
“Disunity and needless political battles slow down progress. Every leader must focus on their responsibility so that together we can deliver for our people,” Lusaka said.
He reaffirmed that his administration will be more hands-on in 2026, rolling out legacy projects across the county.
Modern markets, infrastructure upgrades and improved healthcare services will be key priorities, he said, noting that the year marks a renewed commitment to results-driven leadership.
Lusaka emphasized that 2026 presents an opportunity to actualize Bungoma’s development agenda, urging leaders and residents alike to embrace unity, service and shared responsibility for the county’s growth.
