Malava turns yellow as Mudavadi rallies locals behind Ndakwa
The two-day campaign forays in Malava Constituency by Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, while rallying electorates to vote for the United Democratic Alliance party aspirant David Ndakwa, have positively impacted his support, and it is clear he may emerge victorious with a higher margin than before.
Mudavadi’s presence in the area, where he campaigned in South Kabras, Shirugu-Mugai, Manda/Shivanga and Butali/Chegulo wards while stamping authority on the need for the area to stay and support the government, not only changed the perception about the government but also brought an image and face of the Luhya nation into the campaigns.
Mudavadi is one of the most respected leaders in the Western region and commands great following and support, and his word is always taken seriously by voters.
He took time to highlight the government agenda, giving a clear picture of the projects being undertaken by President William Ruto’s administration, among them the upgrading to bitumen standards of the Malava–Navakholo road that connects to Busia and Bungoma counties, which will boost economic activities across the counties, ongoing multimillion water projects, and the Last Mile connectivity programme that has most households lit.
He took his time to warn political toddlers who had taken to the stage with baseless abuses to gain popularity, saying their days were numbered and soon they would face the wrath of the electorates.
Mudavadi was categorical that Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya will be sent home in the coming 2027 general elections, noting that his political experience was enough to plan his exit from county offices.
Natembeya, who has been in the area campaigning for the united opposition candidate Seth Panyako, has been alleging that the top brass in government from the Western region were only serving personal interests, not those of the community.
