RIP: Grief as Edgar Busiega loses father, Malava mourns

Mzee Dan Burudi “mtukufu Kenyatta”, the father of Advocate Edgar Busiega, has died.

Mzee Burudi breathed his last at around 9:30am on November 16 while receiving treatment at a Kisumu hospital where he had been hospitalised.

“It is with immense pain that I share this heartbreaking news that we lost Dad this morning at 9:30 am.

“I haven’t just lost a father; I’ve lost a friend, a confidant, and the one person whose advice always anchored me. The weight of this loss is overwhelming, and my heart is shattered beyond words,” Edgar announced in a brief statement

The news of the death of Mzee Burudi brought tears to his village, supporters of Edgar and leaders who offered messages of condolences.

Bungoma Governor Ken Lusaka, after learning of the sad news while at an empowerment programme in Matete, within Malava, sent his message of condolences to the youthful advocate and his family.

“It is sad that we have lost the father of Edgar Busiega, a vibrant and visionary young man at such a critical time. May Mzee Dan Burudi’s soul rest in eternal peace,” Governor Lusaka mourned.

The Democratic Action Party of Kenya (DAP-K) leader Eugene Wamalwa has condoled with Edgar, offering words of encouragement during this difficult time.

Wamalwa noted that Edgar had shown great traits of his father’s teaching by standing firm in his principles and being visionary in his leadership.

By deciding to step down in his bid for Malava MP and back DAP-K’s Seth Panyako, Wamalwa said Edgar had shown his true character as a selfless person.

“With Deepest Sympathy, Edgar Busiega, we are profoundly saddened by the passing of your beloved father Mzee Dan Burudi “Mtukufu Kenyatta”.

“Brother Edgar Busiega, your decision to step aside and support a united opposition candidate Panyako Seth has demonstrated a rare wisdom and strength of character, placing collective progress above personal ambition.

“That act of sacrifice spoke volumes about the values your late dad instilled in you and the principles he impacted in you ,throughout his life,” Wamalwa noted in a statement.

Mulembe News Chief-Editor, journalists and advertisers join family, friends, and supporters of Edgar in mourning and celebrating the life and times of his beloved father.

The Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) deputy party leader Cleophas Malalah, eulogised Mzee Burudi as a man who guided his family well, values espoused by Edgar.

“Mzee Dan Burudi will be remembered not only for the life he lived, but for the values, strength, and dignity he imparted; qualities that clearly live on through you. May the legacy he leaves behind continue to guide and uplift you, especially during this difficult season,” Malalah said.

At the same time, he conveyed condolences from the party to Mzee Burudi’s family.

“On behalf of the DCP Party, we stand with you, praying that God grants you comfort, courage, and peace. May Mzee Burudi’s soul rest in eternal serenity, and may you and your family find healing in the love and memories you shared with him,” he posted.
