We want our working conditions improved, Malava CHPs tell Farouk Kibet
Community Health Promoters (CHP’s) from Malava Sub-county in Kakamega County have asked for the betterment of their working conditions to enhance the effectiveness and coordination of community health services.
This, according to the CHP’s, counties ought to strengthen support supervision of Community Health Promoters (CHPs) to improve service delivery at the community level.
According to their spokes person Philip Muruli who hails from South Kabras in the Sub-county, counties should commit to conducting regular multi-sectoral coordination to boost their efforts.
They spoke this during a consultative meeting in Malava town organised by President William Ruto’s aide Farouk Kibet.
Over 540 health promoters attended the meeting.
Present were legislators Bernard Shinali (Ikolomani), Fred Ikana Ikana and Malava parliamentary aspirant David Ndakwa.
Kibet reaffirmed the National Government’s commitment to continue building the capacity of CHPs.
He highlighted key focus areas including training on the CHPs and improvement of their remenurarions.
He called on the health promoters to throw their weight behind Ndakwa’s parliamentary aspiration in the November 27 by-election.
Kibet said that Ndakwa was the best best person to take seat stating that he was best suited to push the constituency development agenda.
On his part, Ndakwa said the health promoters played a crucial role in the health sector bearing in mind that they deal with the common mwanainchi at the grassroot level.
The health promoters vowed to rally behind Ndakwa’s candidature in the company elections.
