Seth Panyako reaches out to President Ruto for campaign funding after taps run dry

The Democratic Action Party of Kenya (DAP-K) candidate for Malava MP Seth Panyako has reached out to President William Ruto for funding of his campaigns.

Panyako in his plea, has promised to join the government and support Ruto’s administration, even if he wins the seat in the upcoming by-election on an Opposition ticket.

For Panyako, the ground keeps being slippery as the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party aspirant David Ndakwa gives him a run for his money.

The President’s aide Farouk Kibet is mounting serious campaigns in the area for the United Democratic Alliance party, who is now being seen as a clear front runner as Panyako’s campaigns halts due to lack of funds.

In most occasions, he is heard complaining that the government is investing a lot in the area staring at an imminent defeat.

Ndakwa is in every village seeking votes.

More than eight candidates were cleared by the Independent Electoral Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to participate in the by-election slated for November 27, among them Wilberforce Tuvei of Kenya Moja Movement party, Joab Manyasi, Benjamin Nalwa and Bruce Shivakale.

Last week, the Democracy for the Citizens Party candidate Edgar Busiega withdrew from race in favour of Panyako, whose political fortunes are dwindling every day.
