Top journalist shakes Lugari MP race, gives Nabii sleepless nights

The race for Lugari parliamentary seat is already getting hot with barely two years to the 2027 General Election.

Incumbent MP Nabii Nabwera is getting sleepless nights over the presence of communication expert Philip Etale.

Etale is the Communication Director of the largest opposition party in the country Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) and has shown interest to vie.

He joins the battle at the time the legislator is being accused of high handedness in matters of education and poor distribution of county resources.

Some principals have been harassed while others are on forced transfers and many say he should allow a conducive environment for learning as his ‘terror’ approach has seen many teachers demoralised.

This, according to pundits, may lead to decline in performance at the time he exits office.

Also, Nabwera is said to be influencing the award of tenders at the National Government Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF) where is alleged that companies associated with him and his friends are given priority.

This bias has has irked genuine contractors from the area who feel sidelined.

Etale, who has been crisscrossing the constituency engaging in economic and social empowerment programs, has promised to address the education issue and improve infrastructure in the area where most roads remain impassable during rainy seasons.

His focus, he notes, will be on empowering individuals in groups so that they can be self dependant and be able to put food on the table without depending on politicians or well wishers.

Etale who has already gotten the goodwill of the electorate as the popularity of the incumbent goes down day in out ,will face of with other individuals eyeing the position among them the Kenya private security workers union secretary General Isaac Andabwa and politician Brian Liseche.
